REPORT PRESENTED BY THE NATIONAL COUNCIL COMISSION
TO THE FAR EASTERN PORTS, January 12th, 1921.

The Commission beg to submit their report as to the conditions
affecting the prevention and cure of venereal disease in Hong Kong, together with certain recommendations as to the directions in which
these might be increased.
1.
WE RECOMMEND THAT FACILITIES FOR THY FRET DIAGNOSIS AND
TREATKEET OF VEHEREAL DISEASE SHOULD BE PROVIED IN THE
INTEREST 3 OF PUBLIC HEALTH BY THE GOVERNMENT.
2.
WE RECOMMEND THAT FACILITIES FOR TREATMENT, INSTRUCTION,
SHORT SLEEPING ACCOMODATION AND RYGREATION FOR THE SPAVARING
POPULATION SHOULD EN INCHPASED.

WE RECOMMEND THAT STEPS SHOULD BE TAKEN BY THE GOVERNMENT
THROUGH THEIR HEALTH AND EDUCATION DEPARTMENTS, IN 00- OPERATION WITH CERTAIN VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS, TO SECURE THE ENLIGHTENMENT OF THE PUBLIC AS TO THE DANGERS OF, FACILITIES FOR THFATUFET OF, VENERFAL DISPASES.
AND
WE RECOMMEND THAT ALL POSSIBLE STEPS BHOULD E TAKEN TO
SUPPRYSE PROSTITUTION.
The Commission have spent the last fortnight in visiting the local Institutions, conferring with representatives of various organ- isations, and endeavouring to secure the co-operation of lending Furopean and Chinese opinion in favour of a progressive policy with reference to the diagnosis and treatment of veneraal disease in the
port.
